OCTA, in coordination with Metrolink, has completed upgrades to safety features at six Metrolink stations in Orange County including Buena Park, Fullerton, Orange, Santa Ana, Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo and San Clemente.
Improvements include the removal and replacement of the detectable tiles and repainting wayfinding signs on the platforms. Detectable tiles have a bumpy yellow surface designed to establish a physical cue for the visually disabled. The newly painted platform signs improve orientation and help travelers find their way to trains at the station.
Construction activities were carefully managed to avoid any disruption of trains and passengers.
This project is a direct reflection of OCTA’s commitment to safety and enhances the user experience for all.
